GAVIN WARD GAS FITTER’S VERY OWN WARM FRONT HELPS REDUCING HEATING BILLS

At Gavin Ward most of the feedback we receive about our Warm Front installations is from customer satisfaction questionnaires but from time to time we receive a letter specifically praising the work of our representatives.

One such letter came from Blackpool Health and Safety officer, Michael Mannion, 58. Last winter Michael contacted Gavin Ward about benefiting from the Warm Front Scheme. He had noticed his 15 year-old boiler was experiencing difficulties and with his wife and three children co-habiting in the house, he knew it was not something to be ignored.

“In recent years the boiler had become increasingly unpredictable, leaking water and needing parts which soon might not have been available,” said Michael.

To his surprise, due to his personal circumstances he qualified for a £3,500 Warm Front Grant to replace his existing boiler system. Once approved by eaga, a day was arranged in early February for two Gavin Ward gas engineers to install the new system.

When the day arrived so did Britain’s worst blizzard for 20 years bringing most of the country to a standstill and with it one of Gavin Ward’s engineers. Despite working alone the remaining engineer worked tirelessly to ensure the job was completed in a day.

That determination impressed Mr Mannion so much he decided to write a letter of commendation to Gavin Ward. Dated the 6th Feb the letter read:

Dear Sir,

Gavin Ward Job Number: B16179015 Customer Satisfaction Survey

Many people today are given to complain (myself included) when confronted by poor service or poor workmanship. It is also fair to say that not too many people are willing to acknowledge when they are the beneficiaries of good service

Whilst filling in your survey therefore I felt that it was appropriate to add comment to the ‘tick boxes’ with regard to the fitter who installed my boiler. From the moment that he arrived alone, he worked conscientiously until the job was finished. No ‘lunch hour’ was taken and despite the best efforts of myself and my daughter he declined all offers of food and drink (apart from one meagre glass of Coke), preferring instead to complete his work.

His manners throughout were a credit and he is undoubtedly an asset to you.

Yours Sincerely

Michael Mannion.

General Manager of Gavin Ward Ltd, Paul Dove was understandably pleased with Mr Mannion’s letter. He commented: “It is extremely pleasing when our valued customers provide feedback of this nature, positive comments like these make everything we do in respect of energy efficiency, heating and insulation to domestic homes seem so worthwhile.”
