OLDHAM COUPLE FORECAST A ‘WARM FRONT’ THIS WINTER

The rising cost of fuel is just one of the many concerns facing families across Oldham as the credit crunch continues to take effect. However many are not aware that they could be eligible for grants from Burnley based Gavin Ward Ltd.

Warm Front heating and insulation grants are a Government-funded initiative, managed by eaga – the UK’s leading provider of energy solutions, and designed to help eradicate fuel poverty in the UK.

When a Gavin Ward leaflet promoting Warm Front Grants arrived at Pauline Jackson’s Oldham home, she thought she would not qualify for a grant due to her new-build property being only four years old. However, it was not until she contacted the company about her temperamental boiler, that she was informed it could replace the boiler with an energy efficient one, free of charge.

Gavin Ward's Assistant Contracts manager, Peter Chester said: “Many people, like Pauline and her husband are living with old and inefficient boilers which we can repair or upgrade to allow for a significant reduction in fuel bills.”

“Many are very surprised to find that they are eligible for a grant and that there is no catch involved,” he continued.

Pauline was delighted with the whole process and before she knew it, a Gavin Ward installation team were fitting a brand new combination boiler in her home.

Pauline said: “They explained everything to me as they went along. And what’s more you wouldn’t have known anyone had been into my house by the time they had finished. They practically hoovered and polished for me before they left!”
